The meeting took place on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok, Thailand, with the attendance of several African central bank governors, ministers of finance, and senior IMF officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Held under the theme &#8220;Financing Africa&#8217;s Resilience, Growth, and Economic Transformation in an Increasingly Shock-Prone Global Environment,&#8221; the meeting addressed key economic and financial challenges facing African nations. Discussions focused on enhancing the continent&#8217;s resilience to external shocks, supporting sustainable economic growth through expanded cooperation with international financial institutions, reinforcing the IMF&#8217;s role in supporting African economies, and improving access to concessional financing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, the meeting explored mechanisms to strengthen the global financial safety net, mobilize resources for economic transformation, develop domestic debt markets, and lower external borrowing costs. It also addressed ways to expand fiscal space for development and investment, striking a balance between economic growth requirements, public finance sustainability, and monetary and financial stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Governor&#8217;s participation reflects the Central Bank of Libya&#8217;s ongoing efforts to elevate Libya&#8217;s presence and contribution across regional and international financial forums.
