Central Bank of Libya reunified after almost a decade

As part of the implementation of the unification of the Central Bank of Libya, and as a result of the efforts made by the national stakeholders supporting the unification process, signalling the actual unification of the Central Bank of Libya, an expanded meeting was held today, Sunday, August 20, 2023, in the head office of the Central Bank of Libya in Tripoli, between H.E Mr. Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Saddek Omar ElKaber, and Deputy Governor, Mr. Maree Muftah Raheel, with the attendance of the Department Directors and Advisors of the Central Bank of Libya from both Tripoli and Benghazi.
Both the Governor and his Deputy have announced that the Central Bank of Libya has returned as a unified sovereign institution, and have reaffirmed that they will both continue to make efforts to address the issues that had arose from the division.
