H.E Mr. Saddek Omar ElKaber, Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, received Mr. Michael Ohnmacht, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Libya in Thursday, 1st of feb, 2024. The meeting covered several topics of common interests, for instance: the role of the Central Bank of Libya in the reconstruction program of Derna and the surrounding areas, the possibility of consulting with the World Bank to benefit from its experience in this field, the latest developments in the CBL unification process, the steps taken to adopt a budget for the year 2024, and support for the institution National Oil Company to increase production. The Libyan-German Economic Forum, which will be held in Libya at the end of February, with the participation of many German and Libyan businessmen was also discussed during the meeting.
