In his meeting held Wednesday morning 11th of October 2023, in Marrakesh, Kingdom of Morocco, with the governors of the Middle East and Central Asia region, in presence of the President of the International Monetary Fund (Kristalina Georgieva) and the Director of the Fund’s Middle East and Central Asia Department (Mr. Jihad Azour), H.E. Mr. Saddek Omar Elkaber Governor of the Bank of Libya. The Central Bank and its team discussed the economic and financial challenges and policies in the region in light of global inflation, and also discussed credit and liquidity risks in a stressful environment on the banking sector, and the strategies required to strengthen precautionary measures
