H.E Mr. Saddek Omar ElKaber, the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya met with, Mr. Jin Liqun, President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in USA Washington on Friday,19th of April 2024. During the meeting, Mr. Jin expressed his satisfaction with Libya’s participation as a shareholder in the bank through the Central Bank of Libya. The AIIB is prepared to study funding for strategic projects and provide expertise and consultations for reconstruction projects in affected areas, economic diversification, technical support, and training. It is worth noting that the AIIB specializes in financing strategic infrastructure projects for member countries. Libya completed its membership and contributed to the bank’s capital in September 2023.
