Governor of the Central Bank of Libya meets with representatives of exchange companies and offices licensed to engage in foreign exchange activities
H.E. Mr. Naji Mohammed Issa, Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, held an extensive meeting with representatives of exchange companies and offices licensed to engage in foreign exchange activities. The meeting was attended by several members of the Board of Directors and directors of relevant departments at the Bank on Sunday, August 3, 2025.
This meeting comes as part of the Central Bank of Libya’s ongoing efforts to regulate the foreign exchange market and to activate the role of the private sector in delivering financial services in accordance with clear legal standards and regulations.
During the meeting, the Governor stressed the importance of all licensed companies and offices adhering strictly to the guidelines and instructions issued by the Central Bank, in order to ensure transparency and stability in financial transactions. He emphasized that the licensed activity constitutes a key pillar in combating the parallel market and organizing the flow of foreign currency through official channels, adding that a number of supportive measures will be announced in due course.
The Governor also listened to the comments and interventions of several company and office representatives, discussing with them the challenges they face. He reaffirmed the Central Bank’s readiness to cooperate closely with all concerned parties to support this vital economic activity.
