Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, H.E. Mr. Naji Mohammed Issa, inaugurated the new Central Bank of Libya building project in the Gurji area on Monday, 11 August 2025.

This long awaited project marks a significant step towards bringing together the Bank’s departments under one fully integrated and independent facility, the practice of other central banks, ending an era in which employees suffered from the dispersal of various departments across multiple locations in Tripoli.

The modern building has been designed in accordance with the latest approved engineering standards, making it the first of its kind in Libya to receive the Gold Certification for environmentally friendly buildings. It is also equipped with advanced systems aligned with the Bank’s digital transformation strategy, positioning the project as a symbol of the Central Bank of Libya’s independence as a sovereign institution.
