During the meeting, both parties reviewed the outcomes of the existing collaboration between the CBL and Numisma Bank regarding the supply of US dollar physical currency (banknotes) to Libya. They assessed the progress of shipment and distribution operations through commercial banks nationwide, as well as the procedural measures established to ensure the smooth, regulated provision of foreign currency to citizens in accordance with approved standards.

The Governor expressed his appreciation for Numisma Bank’s responsiveness to the CBL’s requests and its commitment to delivering the cash supply program without interruption. He emphasized the importance of maintaining this cooperation to meet the local market’s demand for foreign exchange.

For his part, the Chairman of Numisma Bank expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved, commending the CBL and the Libyan banking sector for their efficient and orderly distribution of US dollar banknotes to citizens, backed by effective regulatory and supervisory oversight.

Concluding the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued coordination to supply additional cash shipments according to market requirements. This ongoing cooperation aims to enhance commercial banks’ capacity to meet public demand while supporting the CBL’s broader strategy to regulate the foreign exchange market and curb parallel market activity.
