2016, the Foreign Exchange Follow-up system has been activated for seven commercial banks besides
“Moamalat Company” for financial services according to the procedures established by the Central Bank of Libya . It was also agreed to train a group of employees from the commercial banks to use this system. The aim of this new system, which has been linked to the National ID number, is for tracking foreign exchange transactions on individuals, whether in the form of bank transfers
(Money Gram – Western Union) or electronic cards. Also, the system has been setup with accessibility anywhere in Libya to serve the Libyan citizens regardless of their geographic location. This new electronic system will also help the Central Bank to stop any illegal usage of foreign exchange transactions.
