The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, H.E Mr. Saddek Omar Elkaber, met in Tunisian capital on Friday, 15th of December 2023 with the US Special Envoy and Ambassador to Libya Richard Norland, and Mr. Jeremy Berndt, Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy to Libya, to discuss the steps of unifying the Central Bank, the public expenditure for the year 2023 and preparing for the 2024 budget. Besides, a discussion of the efforts to rationalize spending, address fuel subsidies, and the role of the CBL in the reconstruction of Derna and the affected areas in a way that achieves transparency and disclosure towards local and international parties.
