Governor of the Central Bank of libya Meets with the Libyan House of Representatives’ Finance Committee to Discuss Economic Reforms and Cybersecurity Developments

The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, H.E. Naji Issa, held a meeting at his office on Sunday, 5 July 2026, with the Chairman and members of the Finance Committee of the Libyan House of Representatives, as part of the ongoing coordination with the legislative authority regarding the latest economic, financial, and banking developments.

The meeting addressed the State’s public expenditure and revenue performance through June 2026, while also reviewing the progress of the economic and financial reform program and the Central Bank’s efforts to safeguard monetary and financial stability, promote fiscal sustainability, and protect the country’s financial resources.

The Governor also briefed the Finance Committee on the recent cybersecurity incident, outlining the measures taken by the Central Bank to contain the incident and ensure the resilience of its systems. He reassured the Committee members that no customer bank accounts or balances were compromised or affected in any way, and confirmed that all banking systems and services have been fully restored and are now operating normally.
