CBL participates in the first international conference in Tripoli concerning Combating Terrorism
The Central Bank of Libya participated in the activities of the international conference of combating Terrorism which was held in Tripoli 15th of April 2018 under the name( Libya and Combating Terrorism : The Reality and Challenges ), in which aims on developing the national capacities in this field and provide the efforts of the Libyan state on combating financing terrorism and monitoring the crime, besides putting a strategic national united vision in Libya to combat terrorism as attendees discussed several main themes as, The main financial information unit of the Central Bank of Libya participated with two scientific papers:
- Issues related to terrors ( Illegal immigration – weapon smuggling – Drug dealing )
- The integration of national databases and its impact in supporting combating Terrorism
And at the end of the sessions of conference, a number of important conclusions were reached, primarily the recommendation to implement the proposal submitted by the financial information Unit on a mechanism to coordinate local cooperation in combating Terrorism , stopping the sources of Terrorism and crimes, which includes forming team works in each party concerned in the role of combating terrorism considered as a core for effective local coordination and training the considered parties to formulate policies to combat financing terrorism.
