Governor of the Central Bank of Libya and his Deputy Discuss with the Directors of the Relevant Departments at the Bank the Working Mechanism of Exchange Companies and Offices.

H.E. Naji Mohammed Issa, Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, held a meeting on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, in the presence of the Deputy Governor and a number of directors of the relevant departments at the Bank, an extensive meeting to discuss the work mechanism that the Bank has begun preparing for the exercise of exchange activity, in preparation for the operation of the companies and offices that have obtained final approval.

During the meeting, it was agreed to grant final approval to the companies and offices that had previously obtained preliminary approval.

The meeting also addressed the applications received by the Central Bank from the companies and offices applying for preliminary approval, the latest of which was dated August 31, 2025, where the number of applications received exceeded 2,000 requests for preliminary approval. In this regard, the Governor instructed the relevant departments to work on completing the sorting of these applications in accordance with the regulations prepared in this regard, in preparation for granting them preliminary approvals. The Bank will also work on developing a dedicated system and training all companies and offices on the mechanism established by the Bank for the commencement of their operations, in accordance with the Central Bank’s plan, before the official start of activities, and this will be done as soon as possible.
