Governor of The Central Bank of Libya gets an award from The Arab Bankers Association

The Arab Banking association in London, decided to award the annual award for outstanding contributions in the Arab Banking sector this year to Mr. Saddek Omar Elkaber, Head of the Board of Directors of ABC Bank and Governor of the Central Bank of Libya.
Mr. George Kanaan, CEO of the Arab Bankers Association said “we are pleased to award Mr. Saddek Omar Elkaber for his outstanding contributions in developing the Arab Banking sector, we award him for his leadership in ABC bank that maintained its lead among the most sophisticated Arab Banks, but also for his leadership in the Central Bank of Libya , the institution that continued to perform its functions in spite of the political conditions that Libya has been through in the recent years.”
The outstanding contribution award was presented to Mr. Saddek Omar Elkaber during the annual ceremony of the Arab Bankers Association, which was held in London on the 27th of October 2016.
Mr. Saddek Omar Elkaber said: “It is such a pleasure to accept this prestigious award from the Association of the Arab Bankers, I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation and praise for the members of the Board of Directors in ABC bank, who have worked over the past years to improve our operations and strengthen internal controls and launch the new trademark for the bank, I also want to express my thanks to the Board of Directors and employees of the Central Bank of Libya for their extraordinary commitment to their country and to the Central Bank of Libya, through the very difficult times.”
Mr. Saddek Omar Elkaber has been appointed as Head of the Board of Directors of ABC Bank on 2011, previously he was the executive vice manager of ABC in the United Kingdom. He was also assigned as the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya in 2011, before that he had various positions in ABC Bank. During the period between 1988 and 1998 he was Head of the Board of Directors and General Manager of El Uma Bank.
