Governor of the Central Bank of Libya meets with the Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives (HoRs)
The latest developments on the reunification of the central bank, enhancing banking services and electronic payment systems, steps taken to adopt the unified budget for 2024 and laws related to the banking sector, coordination with state institutions, proposals for reforming fuel subsidies and the issue of oil bartering were the key topics discussed during the meeting between H.E Mr. Aqila Saleh Qweider, Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives(HoR) and H.E Mr. Saddek Omar ElKaber, Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), along with Mr. Maree Al-Barasi, Deputy Governor and their accompanying team on Saturday, 6th of July 2024, in Cairo. Mr. Saleh, the Speaker of HoR, expressed his gratitude for the role played by the CBL in preserving the country’s reserves and financial sustainability. He also emphasized the HoR’s support for continuing these efforts and the importance of ongoing communication with the leadership of the HoR.
