On 26th of March 2024 H.E Mr. Saddek Omar ElKaber, the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, met with two members of the Presidential Council, Mr. Abdullah Al-Lafi and Mr. Musa Al-Koni. The meeting was held to review the financial and economic conditions, endorse the unified budget for the year 2024, and discuss strategies to combat the circulation of counterfeit currency. Additionally, they examined measures to control and reduce the exchange rate in the parallel market by imposing a temporary fee on foreign currency sales, along with lifting certain restrictions, which is expected to positively reflect on the general price level.
