The Monetary Policy Committee holds its second meeting for the year 2025

The Monetary Policy Committee held its second meeting chaired by H.E. Naji Mohammed Issa, Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, and his deputy, Mr. Maree Al-Barasi, including committee members on Monday, March 17, 2025, in Tripoli.

During the meeting, the committee discussed key economic indicators for the period of January–February 2025. It also reviewed reports from Research and Statistics Department on the use of foreign exchange by banks, developments in the Libyan dinar exchange rate, the statement of revenue and public expenditure, key financial data and indicators for the banking sector, as well as local and global price trends. 

The committee will submit its report, along with its recommendations, to the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Libya.
