Governor of the Central Bank of Libya Meets the Minister of Interior of the Government of National Unity to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation and Coordination
H.E. Naji Issa, Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, met at his office on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, with H.E. Minister of Interior Emad Al-Trabelsi to further strengthen cooperation and coordination, and to follow up on the cooperation and action plan agreed upon during their previous meeting. The discussions were held in support of the Central Bank of Libya’s vision for regulating the foreign exchange market, combating certain negative practices, and promoting the wider adoption of electronic payment systems and channels.
The meeting also addressed the development of electronic payment mechanisms for services and fees provided by the Ministry and its affiliated entities. These efforts aim to facilitate payment procedures for citizens, enhance the efficiency of service delivery, accelerate transaction processing, and reduce reliance on cash-based transactions. The discussions further emphasized leveraging the national electronic payments infrastructure overseen by the Central Bank of Libya to support the Ministry of Interior in advancing its digital services.
