HE Saddek Omar Elkaber Governor of the CBL and the CBL’s team meet the IMF Mission to Libya at the IMF HQ in Washington DC.

The positive results of the Article IV consultations that was conducted under the lead of the Central Bank of Libya with representatives from other Libyan ministries and institutions. As well as the CBL’s plans to implement the review the economic policies and make the necessary measures with the IMF staff based on the recommendations proposed during the Article IV consultations. In addition to the IMF’s support to the CBL programs and initiatives where the key topics discussed during HE Saddek Omar Elkaber Governor of the CBL and the CBL’s team meeting with the IMF today the 1st June 2023 at the IMF HQ in Washington DC.

IMF Executive Board appreciate the efforts of the Central Bank of Libya to manage the Libyan economic crisis.

The praise of the IMF’s Executive Board regarding the efforts of the Central Bank of Libya to ensure the financial sustainability of Libya and to preserve the country’s reserves and currency, despite the exceptional and complex situation witnessed in Libya during the last decade along with the recurrent local and international economic shocks, the CBL’s efforts to combat AML and the road map for the next steps where discussed during the meeting between H.E. Saddek Omar Elkaber, the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya and his accompanying team with the Constituency’s Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund held today 1st June in the Fund’s HQ in Washington DC.

Central Bank of Libya strengthening its collaboration with Ministry of Finance

H.E Saddek Omar Ali Elkaber, Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) met with Dr. Khaled Al-Mabrouk, the Minister of Finance in the Government of National Unity (GNU), to discuss the continuations of the joint cooperation and the significant impact on the level of public spending. Beside, increasing the coordination with international and regional institutions.

Strengthening a collaboration between the CBL and NOC

H.E Saddek Omar Ali Elkaber, Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) has met with Mr. Farhat bin Qadara, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), in order to discuss the possible ways to support the efforts of the NOC to increase and stabilize oil and gas productions. As well as, reviewing the operational and development plan of NOC, which aims to raise the production to approximately 2 million barrels.
