More than 868 Million Dollars is The Amount of Total Foreign Currency sold to Head of Households until now

According to the efforts done to alleviate the demand for foreign currency based on the statement published by The Central Bank of Libya concerning the sale of foreign currency to citizens through commercial banks by the official rate of the day as 400 US$ is the FX amount for each member . In implementation of the direct instructions of the Central Bank to the commercial banks and their branches to proceed with the implementation of the statement, The Central Bank continues depositing funds to all banks that began accepting requests from head of Households, through the  foreign exchange system for individuals launched by the Central Bank of Libya starting from the 12th of February 2017. The following is a table showing : Number of transactions , Amount in Dollars and the amount in Libyan Dinars in each bank until the 31st of July 2017 , The Amount of Total Foreign Currency sold to Head of Households until now Reserved amounts of foreign currency for all banks that have worked on the system

Governor of the Central Bank of Libya meets with a number of deans of the southern municipalities

Governor of the Central Bank of Libya Mr.Saddek Omar Elkaber met with a number of deans of the southern  municipalities on Wednesday noon 2nd of August 2017 , the meeting went around improving banking services in the southern region and ways to provide liquidity in the banks of the region and its branches to enable citizens to obtain their necessary needs and to overcome difficulties affecting the functioning of other sectors in the region. One of the points during the discussion was the documentary letters and the possibility of specializing  a number of them to provide the needs of citizens in the south before Aladha Eid

Governor of the Central Bank of Libya meets with the Korean ambassador to Libya

Governor of the Central Bank of Libya Mr.Saddek Omar Elkaber met with Mr. Kim yong the Korean embassador to Libya and Mr.shell wan byon ,minister consultant of the state , on Wednesday noon the 2nd of August 2017 at his office in Tripoli . They discussed during the meeting the relations between both countries and the importance of the return of south Korean companies to resume business in Libya, the completion of stalled projects and they also discussed ways of supporting the cooperation between both countries in various fields in order serve both countries.

The Central Bank of Libya sent a currency shipment to a number of commercial banks in the central region

The issuance department of the Central Bank of Libya sent a currency shipment estimated to be 28 million dinars to the issuance department of the central bank branch in misrata on Sunday 30th of July 2017 , as part of the efforts of the central bank to provide liquidity to be contributed around commercial banks and it’s branches in the central region , for the sake of enabling citizens to obtain  their dues and to alleviate their suffering as a result of the liquidity crisis.

Prospects of trade policy and ways for raising the Central Bank’s economic growth rates

In the frame of completion of the economic policy program prospects and challenges , the specialized team held an important meeting on Tuesday 25th of July 2017 at 06:30 pm at the Central Bank of Libya , the meeting was attended by Mr.Fathi Almijbri , Vice president of the presidential council , Mr.Taher Sharkis , undersecretary of the ministry of economy and experts from the Central Bank of Libya to complete the work of the team which began last May , in order to prepare a comprehensive program of economic reform that includes a review of the ” financial , commercial and monetary economic policies , as they also discussed the prospects of trade policy and procedures to regulate the national and international trade to reduce the balance of payments deficit and the general budget , they also discussed ways to raise the economy growth rates by encouraging and supporting the private sector and improving and raising the level of public services , specifically the heaith and education sector.

The Governor meets with the supreme committee of the electronic payment services through mobile phones system project

Mr.Saddek Omar Elkaber , governor of the Central Bank of Libya , held a meeting on Wednesday morning 19th of July 2017 at his office in Tripoli with the supreme committee of electronic payment services through mobile phones project to follow-up the process developed by the formed teams by the supreme committee concerning the project that had been referred to in the statement of the Central Bank of Libya that was published on the 28th of May 2017 , besides checking  work reports of the technical team providing the technical work for the project and the profession team that works on the legislative and regulatory framework , and the mobile sales process. For this concern the Central Bank of Libya assures its commitment to the dates  mentioned in the statement , pointing that the next mid-august will be the launch of the experimental services of the system , so forward next September will be the actual launch of the electronic payment service through mobile phones. This will allow the Libyan citizen to use his phone as a device for paying his needs for markets and shops.

The Governor meets with the Italian ambassador to Libya

Mr.Saddek Omar Elkaber ,Governor of the Central Bank of Libya held a meeting with Mr. Guiseppe peroni , Ambassador of Italy to Libya , on Wednesday morning at his office in Tripoli. The meeting was attended by the Governors consultant of diplomatic affairs , Mr.Nicola Orlando , Mr.Steven forsbati as the discussion was around the Libyan –Italian cooperation relations and exchanging views on how to support and develop these relations.

A meeting at The Central Bank around the school book and the school requirements of the new academic year .

  Mr.Saddek Omar Elkaber , Governor of the Central Bank of Libya met with the minister of education , commissioned by the National Accord Government on Wednesday the 19th of July 2017 at his office in Tripoli , to follow-up the agreements that have came up with to overcome the difficulties that may face the completion of preparations for the new academic year 2017-2018 especially providing the school book for students through out Libya in time.

The Central Bank of Libya and the Ministry of Economy discuss the implementation mechanism of the import budget

 

Governor of the Central Bank of Libya held a meeting on Monday 17th of July at his office they discussed during the meeting ways of implementing the import budget for the second half of year 2017 and the mechanism of cooperation and coordination between the parties to achieve the implementation of the terms of that budget , insuring the availability of goods with affordable prices. They both reviewed the work mechanism of the system at the ministry of economy ,besides Both parties agreed to expedite the importing procedures for the AlAdha Eid .

A number of economic reforms in a meeting between the Central Bank and the presidential council

  Mr.Saddek Omar Elkaber ,Governor of The Central Bank of Libya held a meeting on Monday 17th of July 2017 with Mr.Saraj, head of the presidential council of the national accord government, they discussed during the meeting the proposed economic reforms to address the repercussions of the crisis in the country which integrates the commercial , financial and monetary policies . both parties discussed the role of the Central Bank and the national accord government in taking decisions and actions to address the crisis of the political division , the budget deficit and trade balance , review and legalize support policies, exchange rate adjustment, security chaos, organizing foreign trade operations , processing the lack of liquidity crisis . The president of the presidential council of the national accord government listened to the expected scenarios and the proposed policies, they both also discussed the most difficulties that stand in the way of taking necessary steps to resolve the financial and economic crisis that has affected the life of the Libyan citizen.  

The Central Bank of Libya and the presidential council following up a number of economic reform policies

Mr.Saddek Omar Elkaber ,Governor of the Central Bank of Libya  held a meeting on Monday morning 17th of July 2017 as part of follow-up to the work of the economic policy committee “prospects and challenges”, the meeting was with Dr.Fathi Elmijrbi ,vice president of the presidential council in the presence of a number of experts , specialized in preparing economic policies proposed within the overall economic reform program as they discussed the affect of the policies on different economic variables, in particular its impact on the balance of payments and the role of trade policies in supporting it within a general framework which integrates the three economic policies : Financial , Commercial and monetary to achieve the best possible results .

The school book is one of the priorities of the Central Bank and The Ministry of Education

 

The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya held a meeting on Sunday 16th of July 2017 with the minister of education commissioned by the national accord government to follow – up the procedures and process of providing the school book for the new academic year of 2017-2018 .the meeting was also attended by head of the education curriculum department of the ministry of education and head of banking operations department  of the Central bank of Libya to follow-up the concerned authorities of following the procedures for providing the school book and to overcome all difficulties , assuring the need of providing the school book around Libya with the best quality approved by the ministry.
