A meeting with the German Ambassador to Libya by Governor of the Central Bank of Libya

Mr.Saddek Omar Elkaber ,Governor of the Central Bank of Libya met with Mr. Christian Buck ,The German Ambassador  to Libya on Thursday morning the 16th of March 2017 at his office in Tripoli . They discussed during the meeting the economic  relations between both countries and ways of enhancing them to ease some of the economic and financial problems the country is going through.

Clarification

The Central Bank of Libya denies any news reported by media and social websites concerning in what they called (employees of CBL protested on Wednesday morning 1st of May 2017 and the protest was stopped by force) The Central Bank of Libya confirms that such lies and fabrications fall within incitement and mutilations programmed against the bank campaigns to sow division in the country and foiling the most important financial and economic facility in the country that combines Libyans.

The Central Bank of Libya sends a currency shipment to a number of commercial banks

The Central Bank of Libya provides liquidity around the country , The Issuance Department of the Central Bank of Libya in Tripoli sent a currency shipment estimated to be 10 Million Dinars to the branches of commercial banks in the following cities (Awjula – Tazbo – Ejkhara – Elkofrah )to allow all citizens get their needs of monetary liquidity.

A meeting with the British Ambassador by Governor of The Central Bank of Libya

Mr.Sadek Omar Elkaber ,Governor of the Central Bank of Libya meets with Mr.Peter Millett ,Britain’s  ambassador in Libya at his office in Tripoli on Tuesday morning 28th of February 2017. They discussed the economic relations between both countries and ways of developing them which will contribute to help Libya solve some of the economic and financial conditions that Libya has been through .  

Notice to the Public

The Central Bank of Libya denies what was reported on some news sites  and social media pages concerning transferring deposit of an amount of 1.5 Billion Dollars to one of the banks in Turkey. The Central Bank of Libya assures to the Libyan Public opinion his commitment of transparency concerning presenting  the facts because this his responsibility as conferred by the Law.  

A new shipment of Libyan paper currency received by The Central Bank of Libya

The Central Bank of Libya received yesterday, Wednesday 22nd of February  a new shipment of Libyan currency estimated to be 250 Million Dinars. This shipment that arrived from Britain at Matega  airport is considered the fourth that the Central Bank receives this month. As usual this shipment will be distributed around various commercial banks in Libya to alleviate overcrowding and provide liquidity, for this sake the Central Bank of Libya sent 40 Million Dinars to the CBL branch in Sabha to contribute around branches and agencies of commercial banks in the southern region.

Sunday, February the 19th is an official holiday to all commercial banks ..  

The Central Bank of Libya receives more currency shipments

For the sake of alleviating overcrowding in commercial banks the Central Bank of Libya received a new shipment of Libyan paper currency which was estimated to be 250 million dinars , that will be distributed around commercial banks around Libya. The shipment that was received on Tuesday the 14th of February at Matega airport ,is considered to be the third shipment received this month as there were two shipments received before , the first shipment was received at the beginning of the month with the amount of 250 million Dinars and the second one was receive last Friday also with the amount of 250 million Dinars.

CBL receives a new shipment of Libyan currency

Central Bank of Libya in Tripoli on Wednesday received on 1st of February 2017, another new shipment of Libyan paper currency that arrived by air at Mitiga International Airport coming from Britain.

This shipment of currency which will be followed by other new shipments in the coming months comes as a part of Central Bank of Libya efforts to provide Cash for commercial banks and relieves the suffering of the citizens to their need of Cash.

The Central bank will distribute this shipment to the commercial banks to all regions of Libya without any exceptions according to the law.
